Natal Astrology: Out Of Bounds
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Catch-22
That´s crazy to read! I wonder, does the OOB planet behave differently partially because of the planet it is, and also because of the house it falls into then? Since your son has a mercurial mars in a mercurial house, it wouldn´t be so crazy for me to think that! An aggressive intellect and ability to do things true to the house of service? That´s really something. Do you feel that his mars OOB gives him Aquarian/Uranian mars qualities?

Serennu, okay!! I´m checking out the website right now, I may have to subscribe to learn some more. OOB is so fascinating because of the spin it can put on how a planet performs, but to see how it impacts a chart in contact with other planets I think is something I want to understand better, but first, yeah, probably need a website that´s accurate enough to tell me what is and isn´t OOB xD thank you for helping!

Transit Astrology: Pluto Transit
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Emanuel
It´s emotionally intense I bet, especially with the aspects to the moon, although I figured moon trine pluto would give you good drive. The square to the saturn sounds awful though, fears of surrendering control or losing it, I´d guess? Perhaps barriers we set up to protect ourselves that need taking down? Pluto conjuncting the 7th sun is interesting though, sun in 7th delays relationships I have heard, but in an intense conjunction like pluto/sun and in 7th? Is there issues of self identity in relationships? Or issues of partnerships with others?
I know with pluto conjuncting my uranus it´ll be kind of crazy. Either it´ll make me more stable, or maybe it´ll make me more unstable depending on how I go about it I´m sure. I had some theories of what could happen, but I´ll never know for sure until I get to that point haha :´^) do you feel that now you´re leaving the 7th pluto transit that you´ve transformed and become better?

Transit Astrology: Pluto Transit
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » 11
Agreed! Good quote, it´s got some truths, though. I think my thoughts are with this pluto transit since my partner plans on wanting to get married. So this coming up in the next 10 years or so I think will be interesting to understanding the marriage, especially with his pluto transiting his 5th house. Makes you wonder what that could mean. Whatever happens, change comes and you can´t control it, but perhaps being able to understand the change coming will help you recognize its purpose when it happens?

Makes sense! I like this iteration of it, not to cherry pick, but it´s more like "Things that already exist that are troubling will cease if you let it" vs "Doom and gloom and violence and trauma and heartbreak". I think it helps me reflect on the already unhealthy habits I have in relationships, and I think perhaps this change that´s coming could be me waking up to not tolerating or enabling certain things anymore. I can see that as a really big positive. Friends who are controlling, bosses that walk all over you, and naturally the partner. Since Pluto will be conjuncting my Uranus and also my South Node and will at some point oppose my North Node, it makes me curious for the future.
Pluto in 6th turned into a really good thing for me, I suffered from some things going on in my life which destroyed my ability to take care of myself and see things clearly, I wasn´t living a healthy lifestyle and through this transit I think it´s made me more health aware and a cleaner more clear thinking person. I can see it being a good thing like you say, although perhaps with a Uranian twist to make it a sudden and unexpected change?

Oooh okay! To make sure I understand this correctly, you´re saying it´s more so that these planets/degrees/signs matter in an aspect chart, but house overlays, while significant in their own way, don´t actually hold the same kind of weight in this context?
So if someone has Jupiter in 3rd Sag, it wouldn´t actually struggle there because it´s in an oppositional house, but rather because Jupiter is benefic that it´d do fine in 3rd?

Thank you for responding! It helps me glean fresh perspective :^)

Haha I appreciate that, thank you! But then, the question still remains for natal charts, what do you think about having a Taurus moon but in the 8th? :^)

Isn´t that interesting? I don´t know why it would happen, but I imagine it´s like how we pass along genes, and perhaps with karma. I know my moon (at least according to astro-charts) is the pointed end of a Yod, so it leaves me to believe that there´s a familial karmic debt there that must be fulfilled. But if we believe that karmic debt can be passed down, then of course there´s going to be family trends on the same vein, I think that´s so cool! I´d like to explore this more, so I´m gonna have to follow this thread I think :^)

Yes! Wow what an awesome question :^0

Leo ascendants run in my family, Virgo mars runs in my family, mars sextile mercury, and mars in our 3rd!

We also have strong Scorpio themes, either we have pluto squares or 8th house overlays! There´s Pisces in our charts also in one planet at least, too. My father is a Virgo, but his sun and moon degrees are opposite my planets, so its in Gemini sun Capricorn moon, and all my half-siblings on his side have Gemini moons, which I would actually conjunct!
There´s also usually a total lacking of energy in our charts, too, minus my mother. She has air, fire, earth and water, but my half-brother on my mother´s side lacks fire, and I lack earth, my uncle lacks fire, my aunt lacks water! My brother also has an exalted moon whereas I´m domicile, we both love our mom, but we both had very different upbringings with her. He has more planets to aspect her harmoniously, whereas I´m the opposite, having more semi sextiles and squares.

So major recurring themes? Virgo and Leo, mars in 3rd, but minor but kinda weird themes? Definitely 8th house activity in the family synastry, there´s a few Taurus placements around :^)

Natal Astrology: What makes a good mother?
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Jaided
That´s awesome and means the world to hear! I wonder, given that someone else also commented about 5th house, that perhaps there´s something there. Leo does rule children in the 5th, and perhaps that gives us an edge as potential parents haha- my mom had a 4th stellium so her qualities I figured would have been more Cancerean, but they were malefic, and I think made her Cancerean qualities lesser.
I know some Capricorn women, and I find that they can be great parents, someone once explained to me that Capricorn was the "dad of the zodiac" whereas Cancer was "mom of the zodiac", both have paternal qualities and perhaps one may be more serious and saturnian, but a parent is saturnian. I don´t think I´d mind having a Capricorn father or mother at all, actually, and with your earthy big 3 and lovely Taurus moon, I think you have a very calm and stable energy to provide for a child like they deserve, with a 5th stellium to have fun and be creative. You´re an awesome mom, I believe it, 10000%

All you can do is try! Motherhood unfortunately doesn´t come with a manual, wish it did, but it´s awesome that you´re looking into your synastry, since it´s a roadmap to our potential with the partner of the chart, Scorpio sun Aqua moon makes a smart and savvy woman, and the fact you care to try is more than what any child could ask for. Support her and let her know that you´re proud of her :^)

Natal Astrology: What makes a good mother?
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Astro-Seek.com
Oh man- it has a lot going on. She´s got a Scorpio stellium in her sun, mercury, venus, neptune, then Virgo mars, uranus and pluto, a south node conjuncting her stellium, and an opposition with her Aqua moon and her jupiter/ascendant, and the virgo stellium in opposition to her saturn in Pisces. Her moon does square her mercury, and her neptune, but it doesn´t make any other contacts there. She actually has an incredibly active chart, everything else conjuncts, trines (22 or 25 times, something like that) and a good bit of sextiles, but way more oppositions. There´s also her Leo ascendant, so there´s a whole lot going on with everything being so close in degrees, too. She´s so smart, so intelligent, but has a mean/competitive streak and I notice a bit of a tendency to exaggerate, and see things from a distorted viewpoint. Her pluto squares my sun, her sun squares my north node exactly- but the list of squares is insane. She and I have one loving aspect, I think? She´s a complicated woman, I won´t say a bad woman, but we could never live together without the house exploding, I think. Years of me having to mother her, and years of her not being there to mother me, I think the inauspicious synastry (I forgot to mention her stellium conjuncts my chiron in 4th :^/) and events that have occurred have built resentment brick by brick.

I love this response! That´s amazing, and also I´m very happy to hear you have such a good thing going there, it´s incredible that together you guys have a composite exalted jupiter and in the domicile zodiac house... that´s amazing. It´s interesting to hear your perspective as well on the aspects and how it translates to your relationship with her, your contacts are great for the relationship you both have as family! :^0

Natal Astrology: Is my Jupiter debilated?
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Alex1s85
I wonder what their reasoning is for that... Jupiter in 2nd is supposed to be pretty auspicious, I think. Aquarius isn´t debilitated though, neither is its sister sign in Leo. It´s peregrine I think. It´s neither exalted, or in its fall.

When debilitated/doesn´t function at its best, it´s because Jupiter is in its fall/detriment in the zodiac of Capricorn, Virgo, or Gemini, typically.
However, the planet Jupiter is benefic, so it brings luck in those parts of our lives where it falls. In the house of venus/2nd, I imagine that it´d bring you wealth, actually.

I think this sounds like Vedic, though, is it? Then yes, your Jupiter is at its fall in Capricorn, but your houses look intercepted as it appears your 2nd is actually in Sagittarius. I also wonder a bit how it would perform being in an earth sign, and also in an earth house (with the fact Taurus rules 2nd and all), I imagine it´d be fine.
That may be a little over my head, so I hope another astrologer more versed in that can answer! Overall, though, in Tropical astrology, it looks good to me.

Natal Astrology: am I weak?
Sun Sign - SagittariusCosmette » Sophie_Saymourus
I´ll let you in on a secret, you´re not alone. I feel the same way, and I´ve felt that way the same age you are now. I´m only 22, so really it wasn´t that long ago, either. I empathize with that fear of not being enough for anyone else, or myself, not being self reliant/sufficient.
You´re at an age where everyone is going to tell you who you are, what you want, what you should do, and what you should aspire to be. But know that in time it´ll sort itself out.
I came from a very very poor family, my mother had some things she was working through, my father wasn´t in the picture, and I had this same fear of "is this going to be my life?" I surrounded myself with friends who I felt were going to be successful, and spent time listening to family members who were successful... but still I had this fear, that somehow all this prepping and mental olympics I put myself through, by being in all these clubs and hobbies, trying to get the best transcripts— still wasn´t enough. It didn´t feel right. Everyone told me it would be though, and if I ever wanted to be good enough or self sufficient that this was the way to do it.

Turns out it wasn´t, at least for me. I tried to force myself through college twice, thinking it would be a degree which would bring me success, and a good job like what everyone expected from me. God, it was miserable.
Then one day I decided to see what would happen if I released the reins and let life unfold itself.
I dropped out of college, I moved all over the states just doing different job after dufferent job (server, admin, bookseller, cashier, batista, just random jobs to support my travels) and everyone hated and criticized me for it.
But being on my own took away my fear of me thinking I could never be self sufficient. These fears can only be dealt with in time by experience. These "loser jobs" as people in my social groups called them, taught me people skills that landed me in a job at a brokerage. At 22, I am on track to get a home, I am with the love of my life, and I am still working on my self worth, but I´m here. I´m becoming something.

I want you to know that you will, too. I know you won´t fail because it is already self evident that you will not allow yourself to. I felt and shared the same thoughts, afraid of being used, hurt, being alone, being nothing to myself. And sometimes, I had those encounters, but I surpassed them even reluctantly at times because I knew I had to. I had to. I would find my success, and no one would tell me what field I needed to study or go into to do it.
I don´t think at 16 I´d imagine myself working in finance, but I´m not actually unhappy here.

I hope this ramble encourages you, if you take nothing else from this, know that you will always, somehow, someway, be okay. It will not be easy, nothing good ever is, but as long as you care, you can do or be anything you want to: worthy, loveable, successful — however you learn to define it. It may change as the years pass, too, and that´s okay.
You´re going to be okay.

Hey! Thanks for the reply! :^) Also thank you very much for the compliment! Sometimes in astrology I´ll think I know something- and then realize I am completely and entirely wrong haha

I´ve been studying astrology for about a year, synastry for maybe 6 months or so, I´ve been trying to learn everything I can, but nothing is better than being able to discuss it with others!
I try to do synastry readings for some couples, and I think I´m getting better at it, but there´s still some stuff I don´t know, layers to peel back, all of which I´m interested in figuring out.
But if you think I´m somewhat versed, then it feels good to hear, then I can know that I´m doing well in this particular area and feel more resolute in what I know.

I definitely have responses to your statements. I love them, by the way, only just these past few days have I started looking at aspects as not just personality traits of a natal/synastry chart, but also a whole system including events that may occur within the relationship. Sounds kinda funny, all things considered, I think I kinda understood but it just now is starting to click in a whole new way? Like how pluto opposite saturn can mean issues with control in a relationship-- but seeing where (or perhaps when) it occurs based on the houses?

And yeah, right?! A ton of oppositions, jeez, Leo opp Aquarius, Libra opp Aries, Sagi opp Gemini!

In regards to the questions about the oppositions, I´d love to share, but it´s a bit of private information, I´ll give a heads up now that I´ll message you my "Cosmette lore", feel free to open it if interested, maybe you already saw something like that happening from our synastry. I never knew that oppositions in the social houses would mean "embarrassment" or "crash and burn" but it blew me away that you called that.

Short answer, though: Yes!

I could believe that also! I think with him being a Gemini, someone said that they perform the best almost with younger partners, their playful and goofiness seems to be complimentary! We also love to joke around almost non-stop. The house is full of laughter always.
He´s taught me so much about just growing up, too, he likes that I´m mature in some facets, isn´t a fan of me being immature in other facets- but tells me often about why patience and time are so important. That´s guided me through a lot of experiences, I think, and helped me grow. They say saturn opposite saturn isn´t usually the best, but I´ve read articles similar to what you say where some people really don´t notice it that much in the relationship, because it was already at the forefront when these two people met who were obviously older/younger than the other.
