What in the chart indicates homosexuality primarily? And what about the other ends of the lgbtq spectrum?

I´m curious about that, too. I sometimes feel like I´m attracted to everyone. I don´t know if this is about my Gemini or because of Mars Rx, but I´ve seen a lot of mars retrospectives on the maps of homosexual people.

According to my experience.

:154: :191: :155:

This is unity of male and female principle that often makes people undecisive about thir own sexuality...

So far, the two homosexual people´s charts I´ve examined (one lesbian, one gay) both have Libra Ascendant with Sun in Aries. Lol I don´t know why.

Maybe it´s just a coincidence that I´ve met two with these placements, because I´m also a Libra Ascendant. Maybe I just attract libra Ascendants.

But, if it is partly due to these placements, I would say it has something to do with the polar energies.

Hmmmm I would´ve imagined that :154: :191: :155: would indicate bi-sexuality... not having a personal preference for either gender since two equal and opposite ´sexual´ energies blended together within one person..?
I don´t know what makes a person straight, gay or bi. Astrologically, it´s an interesting question.

Exhaustive studies have been made into this subject without any statistical relevance being found. One of the problems with such studies is a lack of clear definition of homosexuality. None of the expected characteristics, such as Venus/Uranus/Moon aspects stand up to statistical analysis. Geoffrey Dean and others looked at this and other human traits with disappointing results.

:155: :191: :154: represent already achieved harmonization in the sexual field.

Yes, this is more "bi" than gay but if male is in "normal" circumstances drawn to females, in this case he is drawn to both, but he usually get confused and see himself as exlusivly gay.

There is also frequent :151: :191: :154: in male gay charts.

I once made my own research on this topic so those are just mine findings...

Yea? Because I don´t have a mars retrograde in my chart. In fact, I don´t believe I have any of the usual gay indicators in my chart. But you may be right. How much gemini placements you have?

Oh. Well I have a mars conjunct venus and believe me, I´m not confused at all about what I like.

It´s so weird that there have been little findings about this. And it´s even more weird that you´d say there is no clear definition for the term homosexuality. Homosexuality literally means attraction to the same sex. Well, maybe humans will discover a gay asteroid one day. 😄

Your description of homosexuality is too shallow. Attraction to the same sex is very common even amongst those who say they are heterosexual. We have a sexual spectrum with ill defined boundaries. It is even now socially unaccetable to be homosexual and most people will deny that they can be so called gay. Many people will admit to having meaningful long term friendships but vigorously deny that it has a sexual vector. It might not involve actual physical sex, but the emotions are there. See the Kinsey stuff.

But when I think for myself,
if my husband was born same gender as me, I would definitly be a gay :4:

In short, I hardely believe in sexuality as a base for that core attraction that people experience to each other...

I´m gay and don´t have any of the aspects mentioned in the thread :1: I came out at a super young age too, at 12 or 13.

I do have Sun/Venus, Venus/Uranus and Mars/Venus aspects, but not any conjunctions between those planets. My sign duality is like 90% masculine if that means anything though.

I just checked 2 of my gay male friend´s charts, Bryan and George. George has a Sun/Venus aspect (an octile) but no Venus/Uranus or Venus/Mars aspects— his chart is ruled by Venus though, and it´s one of his strongest planets. Bryan doesn´t have a Sun/Venus aspect, but his Venus is sextile his mars and conjunct his Uranus.

Truly, I think the indicators of homosexuality would be super complex and variable if even explainable at all— more than just one aspect or just one placement!

I agree. It would have to be multiple things...

In one gay friend´s chart, I saw he has Mercury and Chiron in the 8th house, which made me think some sort of emotional trauma surrounding communication and 8th house matters - sexuality and secrets.

I think there´s also an asteroid that signifies homosexuality...I forget the name. Starts with Anti...I plugged that into his chart and it was near his Midheaven.

In a lesbian friend´s chart, she has a strong Mars in Capricorn (Vedic) square her Taurus Sun and other personal planets. Can show maybe the masculine side of her in conflict with other areas of life.

I notice in your chart you have a strong Mars in its own sign of Scorpio tightly opposite your personal planets. Then Venus is in Aries, so another Martian sign.

Could be that in women´s charts, Mars overpowering other planets could contribute to being gay.

That reminds me. I´ve met two gay guys with exalted Venuses. So perhaps for guys, a really strong Venus overpowering more masculine planets like Mars contributes to homosexuality.

That´s all very compelling! I´ll try to check out that asteroid in a bit. I´ve noticed the same thing in some of my gay men friend´s charts regarding a strong Venus. Bryan´s Venus is in Aquarius & George´s is in Taurus, and is the strongest planet in both of their charts.

It might be a good idea to look at famous LGBT people´s charts to research this a bit further

Ellen Degeneres has Mars conjunct Saturn, in her 10H in Sagittarius— definitely not her weakest planet. Not her strongest either! Freddie Mercury is Venus dominant, with his Venus in it´s ruler of Libra.

Just two examples!

I wonder if a retrograde Venus, Mars, or 8H ruler would also contribute to a more complicated relationship with your sexuality? Personally, my Mars is both retrograde and OOB.

It is an interesting question and I´ve explored it myself at different times over the years. Unfortunately, for every theory I´ve found, there seems to be no consistent truth to it when you study a number of charts of the gay community. I´m not sure we´ll eve find a signature for it - but wouldn´t it be nice?

In my case, i have Venus Aries in 8th house and i have strong marsian influence, so my ideal partner should have marsian features too and the edge between strong and independent woman and a guy is not so strict for me. And if we are not talking about too dominant and too controling woman, guys with this features are more easy to communicate, for me. So i guess enough mutability and pretty open standards are pretty good indication. But I´m not into labeling defined and strict my desire!

Aum.. try simplified. A spade is a spade. Homosexuality definition is attraction to the same sex. If there are people who are attracted to both then they are called bisexuals. If there is a straight guy who loves women but wouldn´t mind having sex with a man for whatsoever reason and isn´t attracted to men is heteroflexible. There are also asexuals and pansexuals and bicurious and a aromantic and demisexual and... well I could go on but you should already be getting my point. There are apparently 40+ different sexualities about attractions, behaviors and beliefs. So no, my definition isn´t shallow, yours is just limited and uninformed.

I was just thinking the same thing, especially after I saw someone bring up masculine charts in females and venus charts in males. Possibly. I have Mars and venus conjunct in Capricorn with venus in it´s accidental dignity, the 7th house.

Thanks for your detailed response to my comment.

I would be interested to hear how you distinguish astrologically between all those 40 kinds of sexuality. I shall quote from the work of Dean, who was a highly qualified researcher, a PhD. His associate was Arthur Mather BSc, a research coordinator of the Astrological Association.

"Homosexuality has been fairly widely studied but is subject to two main problems: 1. There is no generally accepted definition of homosexuality, thus in 1973 the American Psychiatric Association reversed its agreement that sexual variance is a mental disease; and 2 there is no agreement on the extent to which it is hereditary or environmental. In other words there is no convincing reason to suppose that homosexuality should be reflected in the birth chart. In any event the various astrological studies exhibit negligible agreement, as follows:

Gauquelin, a famous researcher, found that there was no easily recognisable difference between homosexual and heterosexual charts. Richter studied 100 male homosexuals in the USA and found no clear cut factors. Other researchers, such as Oliver, have stated certain planetary signatures for homosexuality. None of the significators stand up to statistical analysis.

I suggest that you read the work of Dean and others. The main casuality would be certainty.

Oh you´re welcome. And thank you for the reference. I´d also just like go make it clear I am more leaning to the possibility that there is astrology in relations to sexuality but I do not find it the absolute truth. That is why I asked the question initially. Because I did not know.

Hello there, I am gay and I have a Saturn Venus opposition.
Saturn is badly aspected by Neptune too
in general, homosexuality according to psycology is derived from a bad or non relationship with your father, and that is my case...
hope this helped
