House systems
Hi guys, I´m relatively new to reading natal charts.. one thing I would like to learn more about is the different House Systems being used - any particular preference for one and, if so, why? I understand that many astrologers use Koch when doing their readings whilst online natal chart generators tend to refer to Placidus. Could anyone please highlight their experiences and recommendations with Koch and Placidus (or any other House Systems)?

When I use Placidus I have a 7 planet stellium in my 1st house in Capricorn. With Koch I have most of the planets split between my 1st and 2nd house, still in Capricorn. This is quite confusing and any input would be very much appreciated.

Simply that Placidus is a real vision of what happens when transiting high or very low latitudes, the time they need to "transit" through the houses is not the same as they need to transit near Ecuador.

I use the Whole Sign House System. It is the oldest house system in Western Astrology. That it is the oldest is indisputable. Of course, "old" is not always "best". However after years of using Placidus, I found problems with it and Whole Signs House System gives me more accurate readings.

I don´t think I switched house systems until my ninth year of study.

As the great Morin de Villefranche says in his work "My life before the Stars": (Chapter 1)

"I was born on February 23, 1583, at 8 hours and 33 minutes in the morning (in real time); the new moon had one day preceded my birth (February 22 at 9:43 a.m.)
.....
The figure (of birth) according to the Regiomuntanus method is confirmed by all the important facts of my existence and reveals the falsification of domination according to the "modus aequalis" .... "

Morin explains that the vast majority of planets fall in house XII (under the Regiomontanus system) and that using the system of equal houses they would fall in house XI, not adjusting to their verifications ...:
