Transcendentalism. A "vision" of nature ...
A tribute to "Transcendentalism" a current of American thought towards ecology.
Emerson, Thoreau, and J. Muir. The development of a transcendent vision of nature. A mystique of those of now
-------
"The need to flee from the cities, to recover slower and more contemplative times, less toxic horizons, as well as the desire to imagine other ways of life not so deranged and artificial, explains this phenomenon that must be celebrated for as long as it lasts."
-------
“The 21st century has turned many tortillas around. While generations before knew Thoreau through Emerson, many now know Emerson through Thoreau. But let´s not lose sight of where the sun rises: without Emerson there is no Thoreau ”
-------
"Reading" Natures ", which contains the two most important texts dedicated by Emerson to what was undoubtedly his great theme, nature, its preservation and its importance in cultivating a life in harmony, attentive to the movements of the soul, I have I have been able to see for myself how far the keys lie, the sources from which flow the principles of the work of his fellow travelers, including some of his actions. ~John Muir
I have read this quote many times…and if in the words, a seed was planted, Marc, you have given me sunshine for growth. Thank you for introducing him to me…
It turns out, that John Muir immigrated from Scotland to the great state of Wisconsin…about an hour a way from my home! At the age of 22, he had an epiphany under a black spruce tree while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A fellow student gave him his first lesson in botany and he wrote this in his autobiography:
“This fine lesson charmed me and sent me flying to the woods and meadows in wild enthusiasm."
He was known as the “Father of State Parks”. There are 66 state parks here in Wisconsin and it’s on my “bucket list” to visit every one. I have visited 11 thus far, and next up… “ The John Muir Trail”.
The synchronicity now has an identity and his experiences will shape my own.

"Stay close to the heart of nature and its clear breaking of distances. Climb a mountain from time to time or spend a week in the forest. Your spirit will return totally clean."

Oh Nature! I do not pretend
Be the highest in your choir,
Be meteor in the sky,
or the comet that rises higher;
Only soft wind that can blow
among the reeds downstream;
Give me your most private corner
Where I can run my stream lightly.
Somewhere in the meadow, without an audience
Let me rattle, sighing the rush
or in the forest on leaf litter,
Whisper to the still of the evening
just so I can be with you
Offer me some work that I can do
Well I prefer to be your son
and disciple, in the wild forest,
than to be king of men anywhere else,
and the most obedient of your slaves
I could have a moment of your dawn
rather than living a desolate year in the city.
------------
My life has been the poem
that I should have written;
but I couldn´t do both
recite it and live it.
(‘My life has been the poem’)
------------
In vain I see the morning rise,
I look in vain at the glow of the West,
I who absentmindedly looked at other skies,
imagining life differently.
In the midst of such inexhaustible wealth,
I´m still alone, poor inside
the birds have already sung the departure of summer,
when my spring has not yet begun.
I should then wait for the autumn wind,
forcing me to look for a gentler day,
and not leave behind strange nests,
For don´t the forests still resonate in my song?
(‘The Poet´s Delay’)

As I told VenusHouse, all of these nature philosophers will be reborn to an upcoming incarnation as Astrologers. !!

True to my heart too. I always feel closer to God when I see the beauty in nature.
