Travel and Moving
I’m trying to read my chart and other charts more in depth lately, and really apply astrology to daily life. Lately the topic of discussion with my husband is where we would love to retire once the kids are gone (which will be a while, the oldest is 12). We are playing around with Charleston SC USA or Ireland specifically the suburbs of Galway. Two very different places and types of moves. My sag dominant chart is all for it in one instance, but my other heavy taurean influences are not about that kinda change.

So, what placements or aspects would I be looking for in regards to travel, moving, living abroad etc... I’d like to search his chart as well as my own. Thank you for your help!

So with Jupiter and Uranus in my 12 th house, in regards to travel I can expect a big abrupt foreign move? Oh dear, I hope if that’s the case I’m not fleeing from something sheesh lol

you´re a sag rising right? So your chart ruler is in the 12th house? In that case I would expect you to move around quite a bit! :1:

Yes! And Yes! I’ve lived in WV, TN, VA, and MD as a military brat. Then to SC for marriage. Then in adult life back to MD then for work I moved to VA and NC. And then as our family grew we moved in MD from one place to the other and really need more space yet again.

I really hadn’t thought about how much I had moved till you said that about the rising in the 12th house. I’m slightly embarrassed by how much it is especially when I see it all written out.

My husband has traveled abroad quite a bit though I have yet to set foot on foreign land. He adores Ireland and when I hear him reminisce I want to pick up everything and move. I’m hoping it will happen one day.

Jupiter rules over you - your first house and your 4th house of home / comfort, and it resides in 12th house so one possible scenario to be seen is lots of moving around /traveling and most likely abroad eventually... on the other hand, it could have a lot to do with the native being extremely religious and or spiritual... I´d say meditation would be great for you - if you´re into that. :1:

I have recently added meditation to my arsenal of tools on my journey actually! I have changed my sleep schedule so that I can wake up naturally every day at 4:00 am for one hour of pure quiet in the house. It’s been a game changer. My mental health and clarity have done a 180° vibrationally. Also, exploring chakra work as well and am coming to the end of healing my heart chakra, so yes, the spirituality is there as well!

Thank you for taking a peek and reaching out. Time is a precious gift and I received that from you today and would just like you to know I am appreciative of that.

>"third house is house of short distance travel, 9th house is long distance"

I have to agree :1: Only that part about 12th house...I don´t know how much 12th house is involved in this. Do you mean moving, emigrating?

From my own experience I am sure, that Jupiter brings luck in traveling.

Jupiter and his astrological house and sign rule traveling.

So 9th house has a lot to say in this subject - give not only luck to travels but interest in foreign places,cultures,languages...

And a sign like Sagittarius is very often a travel lover :1:

I have Sun conjunct Jupiter in 9th house - I love to move and visit new places... :1: Since I can remember, I´ve been lucky to travel abroad.

So strong influence of/ well aspected Jupiter in natal chart, strong 9th house will talk about traveling. You can find it in placements or aspects like:

Sun - Jupiter aspects
Moon - Jupiter aspects
Sun/Jupiter/Mars in 9th house...

That´s only a few examples :3:

I have Jupiter in Gemini in 9th house and I would really like to travel and even live in foreign country.

You want to be looking at the 9th house and it´s ruler for big trips, also it´s ruler. Also, for actual moving you need to look at the 4th house and it´s ruler. Transits and profections concerning those two houses, and of course the natal placement in those two houses.

"So, what placements or aspects would I be looking for in regards to travel, moving, living abroad etc... I’d like to search his chart as well as my own."

Connections and interactions between the 4th, 9th, and possibly 12th houses. (Though I am personally not totally convinced about the 12th. I think interactions between the 4th and 12th may point more to living somewhere removed from the general population, such as a prison, institution, or a monastery. However, I leave the door open for the 12th house´s possible association with foreign, or "unknown" places.)

To give an example of 4th house/9th house interaction as it pertains to moving: Using the whole sign house system, Saturn rules my 4th house of home and is in my 9th house of long distance travel and foreign countries. I lived abroad for several years.

Thought this may help you greatly as your chart ruler resides in this house. :1:
not solely for relocation advice but just so you can maybe gain a better understanding, because wherever the chart ruler sits in the birth chart becomes of vital significance

-----
First house represents the beginning, the birth and 12th house in Vedic Astrology, being the last house completes the lifecycle and represents the endings. It stands for seclusion, solitude and emancipation. This is the house of detachments. Whatever you have to detach from is represented by 12th house in horoscope, your materialistic tendencies, source of expenses, and so on. When afflicted, this house can lead to jail sentence, hospitalization, sleeplessness, separation, addictions, secret enemies, suspicion, inferiority complex and loss of near and dear ones. Affliction of the house also causes mental weaknesses, susceptibility to unspiritual addictions such as to intoxication, sex, enslavement, and so on.

This house is about letting things go, but this does not necessarily means negative. Being the last house, it represents what you have to renounce to move towards liberation. It stands for the time when you have to detach yourself from the material world and return to where you started – the purest form. It is a very important house concerning spiritual liberation. 12th house in astrology represents Moksha, when you are free from the endless cycle of birth and death, miseries of material life. It represents the freedom of the soul from the shackles of worldly attachments.

This is a crucial house in the horoscope for monks, sages, and people striving towards illumination. It also governs places like ashrams, meditation centers, monasteries, places of worship etc. Your capacity to relinquish everything to unite with the divine force is determined by the planetary position in the 12th house. It plays a prominent role in activities you indulge in out of generosity. Actions without expectations relate to this house. The tendency to be giving, humble and compassionate is ruled by twelfth house. It mainly suggests losing yourself to find God, be one with him.

Twelfth house in astrology gives detachment from people that the planets occupying the house represent such as parents, siblings, neighbors, friends and relatives. This detachment can be in the form of separation or death. 12th house also relates to bed comforts so you sexual ability, desires, fulfillment and sleeping tendencies fall under this house too. 12th house also represents detachment from the native place, in the form of long distance travel to faraway places, foreign residency, travel abroad, trade with foreign cultures and people, import, export, international tourism and business.

This house relates to the 12th sign in the zodiac circle, Pisces that also relates to intuition, isolation and imagination. It is also known as the Vyaya Bhava in Vedic Astrology, and gives an insight into wasteful expenditure and spending habits. Saturn is the natural significator of the 12th house. In Mundane Astrology, 12th house represents law enforcement, punishment, health care institutions, charitable organizations, crime, secret forces, espionage, and so on.

Yeah, I looked at her Vedic chart after the fact because I knew she followed western or so I thought.
In your Vedic chart you are a scorp ascendant with Jupiter on your ASC. and Saturn in the 12th. And in that case - your chart ruler Mars resides in the 6th house. .

Depends on which way you want to interpret your chart Dani.. after researching both systems and coming to a conclusion, noone knows you better than you. :1:

I’ll have to research Vedic astrology. Because according to western astrology I’m just going to prison Hahahaha. Actually, I was in jail for 5 days for theft under $75 when I was 18. I was homeless at the time and was stealing toiletries. So dumb looking back.

Oh I was 18.

My Saturn Return obliterated my life. I lost my spouse, family, friends, and career in one fell swoop.

That´s what I was thinking, because of your nodal return that occurs at around 18 between rahu and ketu...rahu transiting over natal rahu being in the 8th house - I thought could have definitely sparked the event.

You´re not alone, my Saturn return consisted of torment for the better part of it, but Saturn transiting my first sparked the final kick off.
