Start a Business when Mercury is Retrograde??
Hello guys, so I am kinda trying to open a new topic and also want to hear your suggestions as well, in fact more importantly i would love to hear them lol ))

So I have been planning and thinking about this small business I want to start, been saving up some money as well and now it feels like im not quite ready but you know, if you wait you will never be ready. Anyways so I´ve decided that i can at least have enough for start up, which is registering the business, also making social network availability which includes creating my pages and then try to advertise and all that marketing stuff ))))

I know its not a good time for starting to work with documents generally, BUT! still im talking about fashion & clothing business to be more specific.
so please if you have any suggestion how can I do it carefully before November 20th I will be really glad.
Thank you! :151: :178: :152: :177:

My first instinct says to avoid starting a business while Mercury is retrograde.

It is fine to do research, though, and make some possible changes to your business model, if there´s anything you´re in doubt about. Mercury retro is a good time for re-evaluation, but not starting new things...especially something involving commerce, which is Mercury related.

I imagine a business started while Mercury was retro would require some major overhaul or re-evaluation midway through...or maybe there would just be problems during start-up...

But who knows... You´ve got to follow your instincts too. And if you´re going to use astrology as a tool during this, look at your transits as well...

I would pay attention to the moon´s sign and phase before you officially start anything as well.

You don´t want to begin a new venture when the moon is waning...it would also probably help if the moon was in a fruitful or semi-fruitful sign... For starting a new business, maybe a waxing moon in Taurus would be a good choice...

Moon in Capricorn may also be a good choice... Things tend to grow a bit slower and with some difficulty when the moon is in Cap, but they also grow strong, sturdy, and tough...like a desert plant that can survive less than ideal conditions...

I don´t know... Taurus still seems like the best moon sign to start a business under for strength, stability, longevity, and of course...money.

I just pulled up the chart for when I started my business. 3/12/13. And you guessed it, merc. was retrograde. But moon was waxing and was at 2° aries and mars was at 1° aries. So maybe that was good for new beginnings. I think that´s the first time I´ve looked at that chart.

I see astrology as a technique for anticipating situations rather than postponing things.

I prefer to decide for myself when I will do something such as going on a trip or in this case setting up a company.

After the decision, I turn that date into an event horoscope in which I can see the possibilities and pitfalls and through which I understand why and how something happens. :74:

You still have lessons to learn in your life, so why not in your company. :3:

And don´t forget:
´Mercury retro? Oké maybe a delay, but not for millions of people.
I have never seen on TV that for 3 weeks traffic around the world suffers from Mercury Retro. :4:
It all has to do with a combination with your Natal chart.

I TOTALLY agree with him!!
I´m attending an astrology class for about a month now and we learned that on our first lessons: NEVER start anything new when Mercury is retrograde and NEVER start anything new when moon is waning.

"And you guessed it, merc. was retrograde."

Were there any major changes or overhauls needed at some point in the business? Not the usual tweaks, but something big?

Were there any problems during startup?

If not, I guess my theory is shot to hell.. :4:

Moon in Aries... Waxing... Aries is not a fruitful sign, but if I remember correctly, your business involves selling mechanical things...maybe moon in Aries conjunct Mars would be conducive to something like that...in addition to possibly being a good time to start something new... Did the business really take off quickly and "aggressively" during startup?

Haha.. Biz´s birthday is one day after mine... :4:

Moon waning lasts six months in total and Mercury retro more than 2 months in total in a year.
I hope you will live long enough to fulfill all your wishes. :3:

I´ve found that with Mercury retro - it´s best to GO OVER the work you´ve already done - before moving forward. Tend to the finer details during this time. Mercury retros are great for this !

Is there anything you´ve missed or overlooked or can use improvement ?
(Examples: closely examine registration papers, review tax laws, shipping costs, is your equipment and electronics updated and working well; do you have accounting software to keep your books straight; are your web pages spotless, is your advising all it can be?... stuff like this. Fine tooth comb it.

You´re not quite ready, by you´re own estimation.
Go back and double check everything - that´s how you can ´carefully start´ your business.

Very exciting. Best of luck to you !

YES! YES! YES!"

I should mention that´s just a theory of mine based on what seems to make astrogical sense...it´s not something I´ve tested directly...

I agree with your Mercury retro analysis...

Of course I start some things when moon is waning.
But I try NOT to start important things at that period.
Starting a business is a very important thing in my opinion.
And since she has the choice to start it whenever she likes, why wouldn\´t she start this at a good -astrologically- period?
(Of course, as fishscales said, transits and progression are also important!)

There will always be some transit...we can not put our life on hold because some mercury is retrograde... why limiting your view only on mercury than.... look at few other players in their rulerships instead...mercury is retro 3x a year, we can not stop living half of every year in our life... just be more careful, read 5 times that is it...

Hi Mantzourana,

You said:

But what is a good astrologically period?
I was curious, so I made a new topic about it, where you can make a choice, what the best choice is in your opinion. If you like.
I also mentioned your name in it.

It has gone through a few significant changes, but nothing too dramatic. The first week was extremely slow, and I was really starting to wonder what the heck? The first couple of years really weren´t that great, but i hung in there. (As an aside, this business is a spinoff of another "business" i created. Which started in April 2002. Cant remember which day. At that time Jupiter was transiting my 10th house. So must have been some luck involved in career matters at that time. And if i pick the 15th of the month, which sounds about right, the moon is in Taurus)
Anyway, the business has always seen slow and steady growth, with the occasional windfall and the occasional wtf. All in all, it has grown and done pretty well. Not without alot of sacrifice on my end however, which I´m getting pretty tired of. More to life than work
...at least I hope.

I´ve a question, I hope you want to share.
I´m curious from which houses the Moon and Mars are rulers and then Mars also as classical ruler of Scorpio. With other words on which houses are the signs Cancer, Aries en Scorpio on the chart of your company?

I´m not really sure if the start of a company is the first day it is open for business or the day you buy the business license or? But the first day I was open is 3/12/13 at 8 am central time. I have aries in 7th house, cancer 10th house and scorpio 2nd house in my natal chart. My mars and moon are in mutual reception so they´re may be some significance with those two planets being conjunct at 2° Aries at the opening day of my business. I never considered astrology when opening up my business. I would have to find a copy of my bus. Lic. To see what day it was bought

Very nice!
The rulers of the 7th and 2nd house ( :155:) and the 10th ( :152:) in transit conjunct when you open your business. And in your natal chart :152: and :155: in mutual reception and :155: :191: MC.

Except viewing the transits and any progressions on your Natal chart, you can also create a horoscope of the license and then put the transits and progressions of the opening around it.
But a separate horoscope of the opening also remains interesting enough to view.
Thanks for sharing. :15:
