If you could put your mind into action through a song, what would represent it?

My mind is highly conceptual, logical, non conforming & non structured.
I am a rare MBTI type: INTJ.

Vladimir Putin, Joseph Stalin & Mark Zuckerberg are INTJ´s.

Our outwards demeanor of full control and no emotional expression is the opposite internally.

The closest thing that represents my 12th house Mercury in Leo is this.
South Node conjunct Mercury.
Mercury square Mars.
Mercury square Moon.
Mercury square Pluto.
Mercury quincunx Uranus.
Mercury conjunct Ascendant.

That is an interesting mental exercise.
At this moment it’s “Everything Under the Sun”
From Black Sabbath.

Here is the song.
I would say a different song , perhaps something more soft and romantic in a different mood.

Sounds like you may be in a sick-of-the-bullshit state of mind right now... Either way, cool mental soundtrack. :5:

How far are those guitars down tuned??

I´m going to go with one of the songs I posted on SpaceChild´s music thread today to illustrate my insane mental processes.

Mercury in Aries, square Jupiter:

From one idea to the next...somewhat agressive...everything in excess...

Tuned down to C sharp. Tony Iommi , Sabbath’s guitarist lost the tips of his fretting hand a few months before they got a record deal.
He made finger tips from wax and leather and had to use super light strings and tune down to play.
This was the birth of low down drop tuning.
Sabbath are true originators of so much in hard rock and metal.

Yes. I am sick of the mass mind bs.

This would also be a song I´d choose.
Another Black Sabbath song.

"A National Acrobat"

I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime

I´ve lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
The thoughts and images
The unborn child that never was conceived

When little worlds collide
I´m trapped inside my embryonic cell
And flashing memories
Are cast into the never ending well

The name that scorns the face
The child that never sees the cause of man
The deathly darkness that
Belies the fate of those who never ran

You gotta believe me
I´m talking to you

Well, I know it´s hard for you
To know the reason why
And I know you´ll understand
More when it´s time to die

Don´t believe the life you have
Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on

I want you to listen
I´m tryna get through

Love has given life to you
And now it´s your concern
Unseen eyes of inner life
Will make your soul return

Still I look but not to touch
The seeds of life are sown
Curtain of the future falls
The secret stays unknown

Just remember love is life
And hate is living death
Treat your life for what it´s worth
And live for every breath

Looking back I´ve lived and learned
But now I´m wondering
Here I wait and only guess
What this next life will bring

Yeah I kkow about Tony Iommi´s finger situation... But are all Black Sabbath´s songs in dropped tuning??

How did I not know this??

Their first two albums are dropped to D and the third , drops to C sharp.
That album , Masters of Reality really set the stage for metal.
Iommi used various combinations of standard and dropped.
I always think it’s cool that losing his finger tips gave Iommi the Sabbath sound because of the dropped tuning.
They may never had made it without it.

OK that makes sense... I don´t notice dropped D as much.

Back when I was figuring out Sabbath songs, I didn´t even know what dropped tuning was.

Remember the Perfect Pitch guy from the old guitar mags?

Yeah I obviously never took that course... :61:

At least I can hear a low E in my head though so I can tune my guitar sans contraptions, etc.

I didn’t hear it for years. Always wondered why it didn’t sound right when I covered Sabbath tunes.
Finally my dense self noticed.
I do remember the perfect pitch guy.
I read Guitar Player and Guitar world religiously back in the 80s.

Yup read those too.

Fucked my hand up forever learning Crazy Train from Guitar magazine.

Got my new issue out of the mailbox on like a 16 degree day.. Took it inside, all excited, stretched out my hand for that opening riff, and something just "snapped", never to be the same. Must have had something to do with the cold. No warm ups or anything like that first, of course... I was 17 or something.

Led to a pretty weird way of holding my left hand when I play...I broomstick the shit outta the neck whenever possible too. Also destroyed any chance I had of being a classical guitarist.

Nah just kidding there was never any chance of that. :3:

Obviously I don´t blame the publications for my bizarre injury either. Purely teenage stupidity. I have fond memories of all those mags.

Neal Young - Harvest Moon. It usually falls on my birthday 9/22, the fist day of Fall. Everytime I listen to that song it calms me...I want to dance under the Harvest moon, on my birthday, with someone special.

"If you could put your mind into action through a song, what would represent it?"

I find this really difficult to pick just one. So many songs could represent putting my mind into action.

Anyway, here are two from a band I adore, that fit well I think.

I have been looking at a PRS se guitar
That is the signature model of Shinedowns guitarist,
Zack Meyers.
So it was good to hear them.
Always good to hear Rock n Roll.
Music with guitar bass drums and vocals.

Glad You posted that . Got me to listen to it.
It’s a good song and matches my mood at this moment.
That whole album is great.

I find it hard to boil it down to one song,
Depends which part of my mind I am using at the moment.
This morning I find myself going to a softer place than last night.
More like this song from the Airplane .
