Do you have Saturn RX? How does it affect your life?
I’m in a bunch of astrology groups where we essentially just help each other learn to interpret our charts, and someone asked me if my mother died when I was young because I have Pluto and moon in the fourth house, she said she’s come across 2 charts with Pluto-moon conjunctions and their mother died when they were young.

Another lady responded and said that it has more to do with Saturn RX the fourth house in a natal chart. And I agree, but I can’t knock wether or not she is right or wrong about the Pluto-moon conjunction because mine are not conjunct. I have Saturn RX my 10th house and it’s opposing my fourth house moon.

The way this has played out for me; As a kid my mom was always working and trying to provide for us. She was never home and when she was she would rest because she worked 2-3 jobs majority of my childhood. So she wasn’t really emotionally attentive to us, we had to learn to deal with our emotions pretty much on our own because she didn’t have time. Saturn is in the house of career, and it restricted my emotional(moon-mother) relationship with her because of her career, etc. One thing I can say for sure that my mom has taught me is responsibility and especially when it comes to jobs, I started my first job at 16 and I worked with my mom for 1-2 years. People are always complimenting her on my work ethic, and I always tell them I got it from her lol. I watched her struggle my entire life and she taught me the importance of responsibility!

Anybody have this aspect and have similar experiences? I’d also love to hear how it’s played out in other houses and what has it taught you over time?🙂 I would specifically like to know if anyone has Uranus and Sun opposing Saturn!

I have Saturn retrograde in the 9th house and its more of an internal feeling. For me its making sure that I´m being responsible, in my duties,Making sure I´m honest and just doing the right thing really.Making sure I´m authentic with myself and the people who I´m dealing with. However the energy can be quite restrictive when it comes to socializing and taking risks. You can miss out on things because of the fear of what might happen. I can´t relate to the moon aspect cause my moon is in the 11th house and even though my mom did work in my childhood. I still saw her around quite often.

I don´t have URanus nor the Sun opposing Saturn. I have the conjunction for Uranus and Saturn together. And trines for them to my sun natally.

I had the Saturn Sun opposition during my transits and to me it was more of helping others at the expense of myself. I was depleting myself trying to get to the next level which in reality there was none at my job. I was also mis-aligned in my purpose in terms of what I want to do in life which created more obstacles for me.

I had the Uranus opposite Sun too but I was a kid as a transit so I don´t remember too much of it.

I have saturn retrograde in my 8th house in gemini.

I grew up without my father (Saturn rx can show this). My parents divorced when I was 7/8 years old and even when they were married, I barely remember him since he would go back to our home country for multiple months at a time. I have no positive memories of this guy too. Only shame and disappointment my childhood me felt for him.

One thing my mom often tells me is this:
Back when I was 2-3 years old, my mom and me went to visit our neighbors, who´s son is my age. He is 3 weeks younger than me. So his dad came home from work and -naturally- the son went running to his dad, screaming, being happy to see him while saying "Daddy!!!" and guess what? I ran to this man as well, I called him daddy too! even though he is not my father! I feel so bad for my childhood me to this day because of what she has been put through.

The abuse i´ve been through on a sexual level from older boys in my neighborhood has taken a toll on my relationship with sexuality and intimicy. It is very embarassing for me to talk about and I would rather live without thinking of the topics surrounding it since I have been shamed as a child as well for some things associated with it.
It may be considered immature by others but I can´t even say words describing the private area without finding a more decent synonym to describe it. Just like now :6:

I have been always very responsible though. I feel like I raised myself instead of a parental figure doing that with me since I was home alone all day. The negative thing about this is that I feel responsible for others without it being asked of me, if you get what I mean.

My mother used to work up to 14 hours a day so I would barely see her from the time I was 7-15ish.
I remember trying to cook for myself in the evening when I was 9 years old but it just wasn´t delicious so I went to bed hungry. :4: Most of the time my brother would do that for me since he is 16 years older but he was rarely at home.

First time I began to work was when I was 8 years old. My mother would take me with her on her job as a cleaning lady at a kindergarten and I would clean the toilets, sinks, etc. I helped her until I was 16 years old when she decided to quit the job alltogether bc of health issues.

First of all, thank you for sharing this piece of yourself with me in order to better help me understand astrology and placements. It means a lot that you wrote such a detailed response.😄

I grew up without my dad too! The literal very first memory I have of him is him spitting in my moms face and us backing out of his driveway, I had to be like 3-4 at that time.
My parents never got married their relationship was very much complicated from the beginning. My dad was and alcoholic. He never lived with me. I have twin sisters that he had with another woman and they also have Saturn RX but a different house. He waited until they were 6-7 until he actually moved in with them and their mom. Every time he would come home he would sit on the back porch and drink. Eventually he died when they were 12. That’s why I’m wondering about these aspects and placements and thank you so much again for sharing your story.

I’ve been molested by family members growing up as well and I’m the same way… those words don’t feel right coming out of my mouth👄 I definitely know the twins are responsible because they basically took care of themselves for a year after my dad died because their mom was just in terrible place mentally and her health was bad. She ended up dying too and now they’re adopted and have a stepdad and stepmom now. They don’t have to carry the weight they used to and can be kids now. And that’s crazy!!!!! My mom used to take me to work with her to when I was young, 7-11 probably I used to help her prep food at the restaurant she worked at and then I actually got hired at that restaurant when I turned 16 because they knew I was a responsible worker.🥺🥺 that’s so interesting!

I attached the experience of my father being unavailable and closed off to my Saturn retrograde. He was always in my life, but he might as well be an acquaintance that you don´t really care about or something hahaha.

:157: rx in natal does not manifest always in the same way. The whole chart is important to be studied.

However, Noel Tyl wrote a lot about :157: rx. He said that with :157: rx there can be inferiority feelings in the early home life related to the father, who was passive/tyrannical/absent, so never gave the proper guidance of authoritative love. The father may have projected his weakness to his own kids, finding fault in everything they did and in extreme cases he wanted them to suffer the way he did. Such children have problems liking themselves, because they are angry and they end up putting others down as well. Sometimes their issues seem to have cured, but the issue can have been transferred to his relationships/job and he may imitate the early behaviors with his children.

From another book, but cannot recall from which one:
:157: is about setting boundaries and accepting responsibilities. With :157:rx maybe there is an issue with self-discipline, as the rx delays things until you "get" the lesson. It is kind of rebellious and this is not positive, as :157:
has to teach the opposite, so you may mature later in life, learn self-control, discipline, accept boundaries later etc, because in your early environment something must have taken place and you were "not taught" how to do it right. The issue must be related to the father in most cases, but it could be to the mother as well.

Saturn rx made you tough. It oppositions your moon which means something at your core level hurt and broke inside that shaped the way you have opinions and beliefs which then in turn shapes the way you absorbs information because it is in sagittarius which then in turn defines the limits of your mind. My interpretation is quite literal. I processed these emotions in the unconscious of my mind. Aquarius is ruled by saturn. Transformation under burden is a truth all zodiac signs share and everyone must know to create a better humanitarian reality is to dissolve oneself under unrealistic burden until that person dies breathes poops eats for their ideology.

What would it be like if the moon is in Capricorn

Limitations to power and lack of available resources and structure. It is falling apart due to some karma. Even if saturn was not in retrograde. But still a capricorn moon in a way. So its interesting. like OP a restricted relationship with mom. So a possibility is to work on that relationship for development in terms of structure and resources.

This!
I have Seturn r. in my 6th (in company with a r. Uranus and r. Neptune) and opposing my sun and Mercury with a 5 orb.
My father passed away when I was a child and my mother was left to raise us herself, I was mostly left to take care of myself (even more so than before as my dad worked evenings and my mom would come home a bit later after he went to work) so alot of lessons for me were either through personal experiences- so of course the lessons wasn´t always the right one especially when the experience happened at a young age were I did not have the tools nor the help I need to process it in a healthy way.
It led to me making decisions that were driven by flight and fight mechanism, I am currently literally playing catch up on social and emotional interactions and processing.

100% agree. I’d even check asteroids too, especially those in a square aspect to the placement, Nessus tends to add to that worst case scenario already expressed & comes to mind right off hand. But on the flip side, softer aspects to things can totally change it. Totally right about the whole chart needing to support the interpretation!

Sorry for the awfully late response! :2:
I am sorry about the circumstances of your childhood caused by your father´s passing. The natal configuration you are describing appears tough. We all have something hard in our charts, some lesson to learn...

Thanks, Dani, :1:
I do not use asteroids. My personal opinion is that their influence is weak. Perhaps I would take them into consideration if the orbit is TOO tight and in :191: to a planet/angle. I use :164: in tight aspects that I know it works! Of course now :164: is thought to be a minor planet, it has changed category!

Dang, I’m jealous that you aren’t affected by them because I definitely know my Nessus in my 8th house square my sun and Saturn has definitely affected/manifested in my life exactly like the interpretations indicate (very simply—abuse by Father). But it does bring a good point asteroids AND fixed stars won’t affect the natal chart native unless the chart indicates it and you must be of the lucky who doesn’t have natal aspects to anything critical that’s not apparent at first chart glance. What’s that like?! :61:

That´s okay, we all lead bust lives :79:

it is very challenging and I am still stuck trying to understand and navigate all that energy, especially with Neptune opposing my Asc and Venus in cancer and my moon is in scorpio.

My imagination and creativity is restricted due to the retrograde motion and I put up boundaries where I feel there shouldn´t be any so in turn by closing other people off I can close myself off too :8:

Retrograded Saturn

36.2% of the population.

If direct and stationary Saturn were two ironed suits waiting in the hallway for a new job, retrograde Saturn would come in wearing a turtleneck and covered in mustard; everyone would underestimate him, but he might end up being the hardest worker of them all.

The image: a farmer not driven by a king from the capital, but driven by a kind of hectic earthiness, bulldozer, plough, tractor..

Energy: vivacity, restlessness, huge urge to action - "let´s get to work!"; has a lot of energy but invests it unsystematically in many things at once; impatience, feeling that there is not enough time and nothing is getting done enough. He has a huge amount of extra vitality.

Personality: hyperactive, energetic, impulsive - does a lot and does everything to the fullest, always going, always action; even when he has a lot, he works even harder. He does these activities with nervous hecticness, impulsiveness, vigour. (But he doesn´t necessarily always do more than direct Saturn, precisely because of his inconsistency). With his restlessness and vehemence, he can create pressure on others, just as he can drive and motivate them.
Karma: this position is given to people who would otherwise tend to do nothing at all. Retrograde Saturn is like an engine or propeller inside that will compel them. They go like the Duracell bunny.

Motivation: motivation doesn´t come from clear central planning, but rather from the unraveling of the unconscious. It jumps restlessly from one activity to another, like a person cooking in multiple pots at the same time (multitasking), and gets a lot done. From within, nature itself forces him to do it. Creativity springing from the unconscious.

Retrograde Saturn in the elements

Earth: extraordinary activity and enormous productivity, which pleases man (Saturn´s plough tills the soil)
Water: more relaxed position, retrograde is less evident (looser clicking of mill blades)
air: increased restlessness, but the imaginary propeller spins more idly (less productivity)
fire: retrogradity weakens the fire

Personalities with retrograde Saturn: Carl Gustav Jung, Stanislav Grof, James Hillman, Richard Tarnas, Herman Rorschach; Gordon Ramsay, Silvio Berlusconi, Mikhail Khodorovsky; Karel Capek, Albert Camus, Immanuel Kant, Soeren Kiekegaard, Friedrich Engels, Rudolf Steiner, Eckart Tolle, René Descartes; J. S. Bach, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, Jack Kerouac, Bob Marley, Frank Zappa, Richard Wagner; Václav Havel, J. K. Rowling, Mika Waltari, George Orwell, Jules Verne, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali; Stephen Hawking, James Watt, C. F. Gauss.

Personalities with retrograde Saturn by sign position

Capricorn: Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Immanuel Kant, Richard Wagner
Virgo: Gerard Depardieu, Victor Hugo, J. S. Bach, Rudolf Steiner
Taurus: Bruce Lee, Franco Nero, Jennifer Connelly, Muhammad Ali, Frank Zappa, Pablo Picasso
Cancer: David Lynch, Leonardo di Caprio, Jules Verne, Michelangelo Buonarroti
Pisces: Sophie Marceau, Keanu Reeves, Václav Havel
Scorpio: John Travolta, Isabelle Adjani, William Styron, James Hillman, Thomas Moore
Gemini: Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Janice Joplin, Khalil Djibran
Libra: P. P. Passolini, Christopher Lee, Jack Kerouac, Leonardo da Vinci
Aquarius: Johnny Depp, Sophia Loren, George Orwell, C.G. Jung
Aries: Julia Roberts, Dustin Hoffman, Mika Waltari, F.M. Dostoyevsky
Leo: David Bowie, Steven Spielberg,V. M. Molotov, A. Chekhov, A. Solzhenitsyn
Sagittarius: Andy Garcia, Fred Astaire, Madonna, P. I. Tchaikovsky

Special case, often forgotten, is stationary planet:

Stationary Saturn

Representation in the population: 0.5%

Image: chameleon changing forms according to environment

Energy: a lighter position, where outwardly the "not to be told" form is preserved, but internally it does not rely on any fixed structure, as is otherwise typical of Saturn.

Karma: this person is given the flexibility to move nimbly between different systems; internally he is undefined, but externally this is not apparent - formal mimicry that he can change as needed. He will fit in there and there, be acceptable in multiple systems. It may be that in earlier lives he was too unshakable and fanatical within a fixed belief system - and now he is to ´take a break´ from it, ´take a break´. This also applies to inner pressures and obligations. Saturn´s pressure here is milder. One is not bound by any particular form (doctrine, school, belief).

If we use the analogy of a bicycle and a gear shift, here Saturn is idling between the direct and retrograde phases. It is also possible that it is able to switch between direct and retrograde as needed, as other stationary planets can.

Male: outwardly inconspicuous
Female: the same, but more released from Saturn´s function

Saturn stationary celebrities: Liam Neeson, Gillian Anderson

Hi Dani, :1:
I am sorry for the childhood trauma, I really am! It´s a horrible situation for a child/a teenager to go through, especially involving a parent who is supposed to be there to protect and support the child.

As I told you I don´t use Nessus, or any asteroids, only :164:.

However, given your n :151: :192: :165: :191: :157: :178:, I would not expect your father to be perceived as a good, supportive parent any way. The :151: :192: :165: is indicative-in some cases-of sexual abuse, serious family issues, secrets of sexual content involving the family. :165: is in 10th, which may indicate a resentment against those in authority, but also a huge drive to establish yourself as outstanding in some way that will be recognized by others. This is of paramount importance to you, having :165: :192: :151:, as your experience was that of powerlessness in your childhood and you seem to me that such a state is to be avoided at all costs by you, having been so traumatic. I admire your guts to talk about it, as people with that :192: are secretive about their lives, as it involves issues of trust. :157: :178:, related to sex any way.

What is also alarming is :153: ruler of DC :191: :164:, which offers extra information and is about trauma caused by others close to you, feelings of inadequacy and insecurity/trust concerning others. Also look! Your :153: is unaspected, dignified, VERY powerful, so it´s issues of paramount importance!
The same goes for :155: :172:-no wonder, it is the ruler of IC, your family as a child.

All the above are indications. I hope nobody out there reads it and deduces that any :151: :192: :165: for example talks about an abusing father. It is always the combination of the planets, the chart on the whole that guides the Astrologer into forming some judgement.

As you can tell, I do not need Nessus...There is a lot more in your chart in my opinion, of course. Actually, the indications are all over your chart...

One million percent. I’m glad we are conversing about this because it really does showcase there’s no wrong or right way to choose the astrology we use. We all get to the same conclusions and I think that’s wonderful to be able to meet and share these perspectives. How special of a time to live when that sort of gift is at a click of your fingertips.

And yea, my chart is a doozy :61: and you are right about much of it including my willingness to hold secrets. I had past lives filled with way too many secrets and betrayals and decided we aren’t dying from those again, gimmie my power back hahahaha. The power is in the Mercury placement, you’re right, but I absolutely love how the rest of my chart supports itself. I did not always see it that way, but I took the lessons of my first Saturn return seriously as someone with my chart would. Jupiter & NN just hit my natal sun, so, things are going to be really interesting from here on out.

Thank you for conversing with me, it’s been a treat and a conversation that finally tantalizes my mind! I’ve been bored for a long time lol
