What differences do they have with conjunctions?

I have Mars parallel to the ascendant at 0 ° 59 ´
What difference in its interpretation should it have in a conjunction?
Or how would it be interpreted?

Well, conjunctions imply that the planets/points are on top of each other. This means their energies blend together, and is intensified. Parallel means the two seem close when you look at them from a certain angle, but I suppose the energy is less intense overall.
Mars parallel ascendant, in my opinion, would have a similar interpretation as having aries ascendant (or first house aries)

Parallel is often better than a conjunction and contra-parallels are usually better than oppositions. Looking through Serennu to double check Tolkien and Stephen E. King there are Kuiper-belt snow-balls simultaneously conjunct and parallel their Galactic Centers which would suggest the source of their writing Epics!
