Astrocartography
Hello,I really wonder, is Astrocartography important? I´m interested with this these days.

I would be happy if astrologers working in this field share their ideas.

which planets to pay attention to? Which countries and cities are useful for me according to my chart? Which countries support me especially for my career?

I am looking forward to your answers. I am open to book, video, site suggestions about astrology.

Thank you 😊

Well I don´t have mars in taurus but I have a similar mentality. Don´t like being pushed.. work at my own pace and in my own way. Criticism doesn´t bother me so much. I have pretty thick skin at this point in my life. Most criticism I see mainly as a mirror reflecting the person who is the source of the criticism. I have my ways, and there is logic to them. If others can´t perceive it then that is their problem of perception, not mine.

Life is SO competitive there, which is one thing I don’t really like about it..

Any culture that practices this to extremes, I don´t see what it gets them. People filling roles in society who have very lopsided education and values and intelligence seem to be the main product. In my view, that is all that such systems produce in the long run. It never made sense to me. Chinese also have their own version of this in their own culture, but with different roots.

Even before the modern era, maybe it comes from Korea´s location, centered directly between the anvil that is China and the hammer that is Japan. Centuries of living in a politically precarious position because of it´s location. It can breed a certain defensive mentality over thousands of years, that takes on a lot of subtle forms, one of which is the cultural cohesion of Koreans... they way that Koreans just like to be around other Koreans, best of all. On a political level, it means living on a constant state of high alert which easily slips into overly rigorous perfectionism and an extremist mentality because "everything counts in large amounts", when it comes to national survival over the centuries.

Thank you for clarifying, I knew you weren’t trying to :1:

And I agree . Life is SO competitive there, which is one thing I don’t really like about it..

I like working at my own pace… I hate being rushed and criticised and I can get so stressed out, that’s just my Taurus Mars hahah

Oh of course. It was not an attempt to demonize Korea. I mentioned it to reinforce my point about life being competitive and difficult in east Asian countries, particularly for outsiders. Even western countries have this problem to some degree. Not every society has good language to describe it.

I want to learn Vedic astrology too. I´m really interested.

But I don´t even know western astrology yet. I want to learn basic level in the next two years.

Yes, as you said, vedic and western astrology will give clearer results about career.

Thank you for your opinion. 😊✨

Yes, I will start with accessible places and areas.✨

Yes, I don´t think I can understand the effect of short-term travel😅

In the years to come, if possible, I will try to be in the countries that attract me. It was nice to think and chat about Astrocartography.

Thank you very much🙏🏽✨

The IC is the home/family, so this line is suitable for establishing a household for yourself

It’s just sad.

But every country has its bad and good about it.

Astrocartography I would say is one of the use cases and still a fresh concept in western astrology.

I know the basics about it. But because I´m into Vedic, I don´t really use it to understand.

When it comes to career, I think doing the right choice of course/degree, beneficial area of work based on our natal chart will yeild more results :)

It’s so fun to find another person who’s as interested in astrocartography like me !

well you can see by the posts that the people who duck in here and ask questions about it
are a rather flighty bunch, hence my first post in this thread. Ground rules. And some basic sane logic. Most people want to misuse it the same way they want to misuse astrology- to use it as some kind of fortune telling machine like in the old Twilight Zone episode, which also makes the conversation repetetive and tedious. One post reads like another. For most, some therapy would be more productive, or simply sitting down and quietly, rationally, thinking over the problems in their lives.

Astrocartography books are kind of tedious reading. The guy who invented the idea was a chatty Gemini Sun. A lot of other books I have looked at rattle on, a lot like people in here do about placidus vs. whole sign, devoting pages to that and maybe a few sentences to the actual question that is at issue. The book was also written in the 70´s, so.. another era.. Not a bad read, but be ready for a bit of tedium and some rambling talk.

That ‘aha’ moment was literally me loool.

“ It´s also interesting to observe people you draw to yourself in here- which of your lines do they lie under? It´s an interesting thing to check. See what patterns are there. “

Yes 100%, I feel very drawn to people from my own ethnicity/region, and neighbouring countries…. So Eastern Europe, Asia. Mainly eastern and Western Asia. And guess what, my most important lines are there . I also feel very drawn to the US, my moon and sun line go through the east side, so New York etc..

This is all so interesting. I find astrocartography so intriguing. Under your moon line your intuition is so strong as well, you just know you’re from there and you’re meant to be there. And I was right it was your Jupiter IC :75:

I read that you can feel the influence of lines within 600 miles though… hmm. But I imagine it just gets weaker as you get further away from it. I’ll go check that book out. I’ve been meaning to buy a book on astrocartography, but I’ve just been lazy to do it and watching YouTube videos instead. I mean it is way easier :61:

I do fit in, and I know my way around the culture but the overwhelming emotions are too much for me. It’s almost like my soul remembers and knows that as where I spent some past lives at.. the memories , probably mostly traumatic, just overwhelm me. Even though I can’t literally remember them.

Oh yes, that´s living under a moon line.. I live under my own here as well. For so many years I knew no other life than the one I was living, so I just learned to deal with it. Accept it as normal. I never questioned it. But it was a huge "aha" moment when I saw my map. It explained that feeling I had had all of my life that I could never put into words clearly or identify coherently. You said it well. I don´t think it has made my life tragic, but I do think that I have failed some of the tests of that line in my own chart, mostly due to a lack of self knowledge. It is what it is. Joys mixed with sorrows. In that we are all identical. All of our lives are a mixture of those two things.

Oddly, the same lines I live under here.. I lived under in Europe as well! Talk about "not being able to run from oneself.." !!

It´s also interesting to observe people you draw to yourself in here- which of your lines do they lie under? It´s an interesting thing to check. See what patterns are there.

But it’s just not the best for me. I do fit in, and I know my way around the culture but the overwhelming emotions are too much for me.

I think anyone who lives under their own moon line will understand these words without further explanation. All the rest, not so much.

Even though I can’t literally remember them.

Yes, I know. In earlier years of my life I would say things to myself like I am from here, I have always been from here, and it made a strange sense to me.
Even now, something gives me very strange comfort and has for many years is this feeling I have that I could be blindfolded and driven to any place in this region and dropped off in the middle of the night and I would quickly know where I was. It´s kind of a beautiful feeling of comfort and home, but yes, it can be overpowering, and that in itself is difficult to describe to anyone coherently who hasn´t lived it or known someone that has. Maybe this is something like the connection to the land that Indians and Indigenous people feel.

That sounds cool..
I love places like what you mentioned.. because they are so pretty, so serene and peaceful. The peace of it makes me sit there and think about a lot of things in my life.

well yes and no.. for 6 months out of the year it´s 45C or hotter, and no water or shade. It´s an extreme place in an area with an extreme climate generally. Below freezing in winter, at least at night. But 99% of days are sunny with zero rain.. ever. My dad bought it in the 1970´s. Not sure what he was thinking. The place lies on his pluto line. Actually I do know what he was thinking but none of his plans over the many decades ever worked out, for various reasons.

It’s interesting because you said you owned some land there, and Jupiter talks about blessings and receiving/owning things. Is it an IC line?

yes, jupiter IC +120 trine line..

But yeah it can be too remote … especially since it’s in your 12th house, those themes pop up a lottt. The gift from that place is definitely the solitude, which can either be a great help or end up being terrible for your mental health.

Bingo..

So 12th house themes were so prominent there for me.

Haha oh wow. I have found my new astrocarto conversation partner. Who knew our charts has these themes in common.

I could still feel my moon line, even though it’s on the east coast of Korea

I read the book written by the guy who created astrocarotgraphy, he says a line has influence for 300 miles on either side of the line or.. 3 degrees of longitude. 300 miles is a lot easier to estimate, offhand. No way the Korean peninsula is 300 miles wide, so any line close to it will still affect you.

And I feel connected to Japan as well, even though I’ve never been there. I think I might’ve spent a past life there too.

Certainly possible, and definitely what living under one´s moon line feels like. It´s such a weird thing to talk about. I am surprised to find someone who just "gets" it. I couldn´t have said it better myself. I´de only have to change a few place names here and there and I could be saying the same thing about California.

Yeah, it was hard for me to accept that Korea just might not be the best option for me, even though I myself am half Korean, literally most of my family is there , and I love and miss it so much. And my mother and the rest of my family keep encouraging and asking me to take my next step and go live there to pursue what I want.. But it’s just not the best for me. I do fit in, and I know my way around the culture but the overwhelming emotions are too much for me. It’s almost like my soul remembers and knows that as where I spent some past lives at.. the memories , probably mostly traumatic, just overwhelm me. Even though I can’t literally remember them.

I remember I was on my moon and Neptune lines which sits in my other country in Eastern Europe, and I feel the same way there. Moon and Neptune themes. I also had a dream of me having a baby for some reason lmaoo

That sounds cool..

It’s interesting because you said you owned some land there, and Jupiter talks about blessings and receiving/owning things. Is it an IC line?

My Jupiter lines also go through both my countries.. literally SO much energy there - it’s a whole stellium of Jupiter Mars and my moon.

But yeah it can be too remote … especially since it’s in your 12th house, those themes pop up a lottt. The gift from that place is definitely the solitude, which can either be a great help or end up being terrible for your mental health. My Neptune line goes through the heart of Korea, the capital city, where I always stay. So 12th house themes were so prominent there for me. I figured out that that’s what it was. I could still feel my moon line, even though it’s on the east coast of Korea, right on the sea near Japan too. And I feel connected to Japan as well, even though I’ve never been there. I think I might’ve spent a past life there too. I may actually have some Japanese heritage, since Japan did colonise most of Asia ESPECIALLY affecting Korea. Since they’re so nearby.

Weirdly enough I’ve actually never been to the east coast of Korea.. but I really want to… it’s so so much more beautiful there because of the beach, the waters, the serenity of it all fills my soul with comfort and joy. And life seems so much better there. More free and flowing ..

Europe has a lot of broadly available funding and scholarships for the arts, or they used to. It wasn´t much but it was something.

I am not sure what money is available in Asian societies for non-Asians or non-citizens to study in those countries. For famous people or students with advanced degrees there is always something, but for anyone who is not famous or blindingly exceptional at something, well, I think those societies would rather spend the money on their own citizens first and foreigners, much much later.

Maybe rule #7 for astrocartography should be:

7. Astrocartography begins at home. Where you are at right now. If you can´t identify and understand it´s influence in the place that you are living right now, or places you have lived, then you probably won´t understand it once you get off the plane in Timbuktoo or Shangri-La or whatever destination you are considering.

Another way to put it: work from what you already know. If you don´t have the luck to be able to visit the line in question somewhere close to home, then any move will be a gamble and involve some risk.

Yes you must begin with practical things first.

Discussing travel from one area of the world to another is simple when it´s a thought experiment, and the question is purely theoretical.

Actually making the journey is a lot more complicated. It´s too bad that life is this way. It makes it difficult for most people to experience astrocartography themselves, in real and practical ways. The economic and legal realities of life relegate astrocartography to a mostly theoretical discussion. It would help if more people were interested in it, but astrocartography is just a small part of astrology which is itself a small subject that most people are not interested in.

I agree with you..yes Korea is a really beautiful country. I´m glad you studied there and at least you know that elsewhere is as good as you are for your next life🙏🏽✨

I also wanted to go there to study, but with the comments I have read so far, I have clarified my thoughts. Astrocartography is a good system, but it can also be bad to live only by looking at it. Right now I will go with the flow and improvise whichever of these countries I can get a visa from🥰

Thank you so much 🐝

It’s not exactly the best place for me to live in, but it’s definitely the best place for me to go for holidays. Always.

So true of many places for many people.. myself included.

It takes a certain maturity to be honest with ourselves about it.

There is a place east of here that sits directly under my Jupiter line. I go there from time to time. Once every few years for a few days. My family owns some land there, but it´s empty land in a small isolated town. Mostly good for camping or riding dirt bikes or dune buggies. It´s beautiful there, in a desert kind of way, but I never felt like it was promising at all in any way beyond being quiet, empty, and in certain seasons of the year, quite pretty. I have come to think of it like any line that passes over the middle of the ocean far from land, or Antarctica, or someplace like that. You can go there, experience it, but you can´t really remain there long enough to realize any positive long term effects. It´s too remote or inhospitable or unfeasible for other reasons. I still think about that Jupiter line and try to sense some effect of it, catch some glimpse of it, but it has always been vague and elusive. My mind could never quite catch anything and hold on to it. Getting there does require a journey by unusual roads and through some places that are unusual and off the beaten track, but still, I have always had trouble connecting much of it with Jupiterian things. My Jupiter is in my 12th, so maybe the gift or the benefit for me with that placement lies in the solitude of the place. They once filmed an episode of the X Files there, and the place appears in TV shows and movies now and then when they need a remote and wild location for filming.

“ I find Korea very close to me. I love it. The culture is very unique and I love the Korean language and the people.❤️ “

- I’m glad🥹 :80: But you are very right, I definitely agree that things are too fast and everyone literally strives for perfection, and if you don’t meet those expectations then it’s often looked down upon. And people see that as ‘not being successful’. So I think there’s TOO much pressure… As it is in most Asian countries.

But don’t let this deter you from relocating there if you truly feel like you want to. Every country has its ups and downs. If you really feel like it’s for you, then definitely go for it :6:. It is alright to feel different, since of course you are from a different country , it can take time to fit in but Koreans are lovely, and elders and people in general are way way more accepting now. I’ve seen Turkish people on Tiktok etc go live in Korea , and they love it a lot :1: . And just remember there’s so many foreigners there as well, so remember you’re not alone..

I was thinking about staying in Korea for a year, after I finish school, but honestly I just don’t know anymore.. although I love my country dearly and I miss it so much, I don’t think I could handle the stress, and my moon, Mars and Neptune lines go through there. It’s not exactly the best place for me to live in, but it’s definitely the best place for me to go for holidays. Always.

Interesting.
That’s not how it’s manifesting for me.

I live very close to my Pluto line, and I can’t say it’s any worse than living anywhere else (I’ve lived in at least 2 other very different locations)
