What is a coalescence chart?
I notice there’s an option to create a Coalescent (harmonics) composite? relationship chart on this site. I can use synastry, composite and Davison charts but I’ve never heard of this. Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is and how to read it? Thanks!

ah well - as long as it is about relationships (or working partners) maybe I shouldn´t worry about it much then hehe
though honestly, this is the first time i hear of it. Typically it is either synastry chart or composite chart to check the relation between 2 individuals (even for business).

:61: Well you know me by now...

Anyway it is already calculated so not much work needed. I never decide on whether something would work or not before I have tried it out for myself. So as I saw the option to compute such a chart I guess like my fellow Aquarian Viv I started wondering about the use of it.

Such a complicated process - and yet I don´t know why would anyone want to do this.

In case one is not familiar with the harmonics, they are what is called in Vedic practices "Varga charts" or Divisional charts, and typically noted with D(number), e.g. D9 D10 D12 etc. The number specifies the division of each sign. For example, D9 means each sign is divided into 9 segments and each segment is ruled by a specific sign and thus we can deduct a new chart based on that. D12 specifically is a tricky business, as I´ve explained before.

Heh, I asked this too, about the Coalescent chart, on the forum not too long ago but I think it got no replies. It seems it is not a very commonly known and used concept.

Here is a short description (and I wasn´t able to find much more on it honestly):
"The coalescent chart is an original 20th-century chart-comparison technique proposed by Lawrence Grinnell (Dhruva). It is similar to the composite chart in that it is a third chart derived from a blend of two original charts, but it differs in that its calculations are based on harmonics.

Each planet in the coalescent chart is calculated from a different harmonic, which is a result of the angular difference of the two positions of that planet in the two charts being compared. The resultant harmonic number is multiplied by the degree number of either person´s planet (the result will be the same) to arrive at the degree of the coalescent planet.

These charts show unusual sensitivity to transits and are ideal for investigating the relationships between two people or a person and an event."

Following, hope someone at all have any experience with using them.

Good to see you back btw :27:
