Thats the beauty of this place. It´s old-school internet. Its a place to write and share. There´s no likes or points, no group think. Just old school "You´re, not wrong. I´m just more right than you" :2:

I never thought about it that way..

Smartphones put a mini computer into the hands of more idiots & children. Before that it was the ipad, and before that, some time
in the mid 2000´s there was also a spike in new, strange people in internetland

A new perspective. Reminds me of this.. I do remember a time when IQ´s seemed to be higher on the internet, and there was far less emotionalism, but that was when pluto virgo´s and libra´s were in their 20´s.. generations after that, not so much.

Eternal September or the September that never ended[1] is Usenet slang for a period beginning in September 1993,[2][3] the month that Internet service provider America Online (AOL) began offering Usenet access to its many users, overwhelming the existing culture for online forums.

Before then, Usenet was largely restricted to colleges, universities, and other research institutions. Every September, many incoming students would acquire access to Usenet for the first time, taking time to become accustomed to Usenet´s standards of conduct and "netiquette". After a month or so, these new users would either learn to comply with the networks´ social norms or tire of using the service.

Whereas the regular September student influx would quickly settle down, the influx of new users from AOL did not end and Usenet´s existing culture did not have the capacity to integrate the sheer number of new users.[4][5] The influx was exacerbated by the aggressive direct mailing campaign by AOL Chief Marketing Officer Jan Brandt, which most notably involved distributing millions of floppy disks and CD-ROMs with free trials of AOL.[6]

Since then the popularity of the Internet has led to a constant stream of new users. Hence, from the point of view of the early Usenet, the influx of new users in September 1993 never ended.

This forum is in reality a friendly place which strikes somewhat of a balance between serious discussions and casualness. For more focused technical discussions there are other astrological forums, but I find them too stiff personally.

Also if you believe in phenomenons like law of attraction, it means you´re no better than whatever we are :4:

well said..

For sure the IQ test was if you could configure your network card and assign the right values for your default gateway.

"But I hardly get where you see victimization or what it was possibly to be offended by"

I look at the pluto-generation of the whiners in here..

usually pluto-sag or pluto-scorp.

I don´t know what is wrong with the heads of people in those generations. A teasing, sarcastic sense of humor was very pluto-virgo, perhaps taken to excess much of the time. Pluto Libra mellowed in this tendency, a lot, but still they also had an eye for the dark or freakish- (just think about popular culture in the pluto-libra 1970´s)

"or a pussywilow"

:61: :61:

I was rewatching old Howard stern clips the other day, and wow, I grew up in an era where we ALL listened/watched him... he made fun of anything and everything... these young folks of today would probably record as many "tiktoks" as they could to try and "cancel" him...

What does that even mean? They just take any new slogan the media gives them, no original thought of their own.

God I have mixed feelings about Howard Stern.. god he was funny in his day, but part of that very "virgo" humor was also rooted in the times and the era. I think enough time has passed now that it´s becoming clear how oppressive the 40´s/50´s/60´s really were, and irreverent humor pushed back against the narrow mindedness and oppression that was present in society in that era. It provided some balance in some way, on some level, to the pompous and vain "powers that be". But of course younger pluto libras and later are all too young to remember this at all. The past is "historical" to them, they never lived in those times. Much of that older humor was veiled social commentary on broader society and it´s repressive attitudes.

Younger generations are more free to be themselves and find their true selves, than generations before them ever were, and somehow humor has suffered. Maybe people in younger generation have thinner skin simply because they are not hiding behind social conventions in the way that older generations did. They live lives that are more raw, nerves exposed.

But on the other hand, that old saying that history always repeats itself, first as a tragedy, then as a farce..

Younger generations quickly become a parody of themselves, due to their unmodulated emotionalism and excessive subjectivity and inward gaze and focus. Who knows what will become of them when they get older. These tendencies take one form when you are younger than 40, and some other one after that.

Honest truth be told, pluto cancer, pluto leo and pluto virgo were eras of great excesses and extremes, and culturally we are still coming off of that, slowly..

But the kids are too young. They don´t understand the culture of those times, or how one lived during them. They only have the archeological artefacts of those times, not the thing itself.

Oh, I do too.. have mixed feelings on him. Of course, I see all media for what it is, now. And his angle was all to push the degenerate depravity, especially from the class he belongs too..

But back then, as a kid, my mind wasn´t wired to view it like that. .No one was offended when he mocked retarded people or gays on the regular. .

As you alluded too..in regards to this generation and those previously ....the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I actually just watched his old clips of when the Ramones were on, and other musicians.. back then the Internet wasn´t really a "thing" I remember that´s where you retained a lot of the scoop.. just a different time all around

well it was understood back then that his show was entertainment..

and you either liked that sort of entertainment or you didn´t..
and if you didn´t, you just changed the station to another.
There was still some choice in those days.

back to that calvin cartoon about common sense and using it.

post pluto libra, this wisdom seems to have been lost.

"cancel culture" hasn´t stopped people from believing idiotic things.
In some ways it impoverishes us all because it hides those ideas away, out of sight. But in true pluto fashion they will always find their way to the surface somehow. Better to leave them out in the open, expose them to the light. Let these things be seen for what they are.
Creating taboo and shadow and mystery are dark pluto traits. Sadly people fall into this all too easily these days.

"Oh yeah, now people plug their children in before they can walk or comprehend vocabulary."

Children aren´t supposed to even look at/watch television before the age of 3, due to the frequencies attached to such technology mucking up their brand new cerebral vortex.

Never mind new(er) technologies such as the smartphone. The radiation coming from them is detrimental to all life, but you can Imagine the grievous affects it has on children.

A man having a laptop computer on his lap for only 15 minutes lowers his sperm count by about 20 percent... having such technologies in close proximity to your head, or private area is not good. The radiation it´s emitting is what makes people sick.

Yeah that is a creepy commercial! Used to be a time you asked your parents these questions, not "Siri" or "Alexa" or whatever... Basically making the parents role irrelevant isn´t it? Let the state raise your kids, who needs you... and don´t investigate anything yourself either, let a machine give you all the answers.
