Void of Moon of course
I recently stumbled on a blurb about void moons in my astrology book and needed more information, so I turned to the internet.

“ This period may last a few seconds, or it may be three days and nights in a single session. It begins when the Moon in transit makes the last major aspect it will make before it changes from one sign of the Zodiac to the next. It ends when the Moon enters the next sign. The name of this period is Void of Course Moon. You may call it a silly season, or vacation from normal living.”

Here’s the current table I found. Looks like we are void moon right now if I’m reading it right (it’s 4 in the morning here).

So, what do you know about void moons?

Never looked much into it even though I probably should. Apparently, I was born under one of these. What could that mean? :63:
Honestly, it probably just sounds way cooler than it actually is. :2:

I recently stumbled on astrology podcast about Void of Course Moon ... and fond out, that there are actually lots of different various calculations of VOC.

I played a little bit with these VOC calculations ... and welcome to rabbit hole :21: :61:

---

1) Medieval/Renaissance VOC method popularized by modern astrologer Al Morrison:

"VOC = Period of time when Moon does not form an exact Ptolemaic aspect with another planet until Moon steps into the following sign."

Calculation works with both 7 traditional planets and also with modern 10 (Sun-Pluto) planets.

2) Traditional/Hellenistic VOC method - Orb 30°00´

https://mooncalendar.astro-seek.com/…

"VOC = Period of time when Moon is not applying to an exact Ptolematic aspect within next 30°00´ degrees."

Such periods happen very rarely (just few times a year).

---

3) Aspect by degree non/orb/moiety - Orb 13°00´

https://mooncalendar.astro-seek.com/…

"VOC = Period of time when Moon is not applying to an exact Ptolematic aspect within 13°00´ orb (average Moon daily motion)"

https://i.imgur.com/36gO2Pm.jpg

---

4) Aspect by degree orb/moiety by W. Lilly

https://mooncalendar.astro-seek.com/…

Orb is calculated by (Moon degree 12.5° + Other planet degree)%2 according to W. Lilly table.

Orb varies from 9.75° (Moon&Mercury) to 14.75° (Moon&Sun)

Because objects faster in the sky than the Moon are quite rare, there can be an "over-abundance" of V/C :152: time!
Because the :151: is sometimes :191: :192: :194: and upper :194: the nodes ( :161: & :162:) There are 80 days a year of "Moon Wobble" which is even stranger than v/c :64:.
Look up Mercury storm; The changing of speed of :153: has it´s own phasing!

It simply means it is not transited into the next constellation yet. It means you shouldn´t make any yes or no desicions and take time to contemplate.

I recommend look through this site further. I have been slowly learning answers to astrology questions from this site. It´s been super helpful.

This is probably why I’m not understanding it to its fullest because I haven’t delved into Horary Astrology intentionality yet.

Sooo many different types of astrology it gets so confusing to me.

In Horary Astrology, it means that the answer to the question is, that the situation remains unchanged.
