Toy(s) for your inner child?
Do you remember the toy(s) you wanted as a kid but couldn’t have/something tragic happened to it/them? I heard that buying the toy(s) that you wanted as a child but couldn’t have or toy(s) that meant a lot for you in general helps heeling the inner child. I haven’t done it but could imagine that it helps in some way and plan to do it if I find a similar one. Have you done it, what’s your experience? Would you like to share a picture of it/them or describe it/them? Would you buy a toy for your inner child? Feel also free to share a picture of resembling one pulled from internet for example, I am curious to know & see :).

The toy I would buy myself is a fire truck. I had one when I was around 4-5. I LOVED it. It was so detailed, like a real one but toy, my favorite. I played with it for hours, imagining being on a mission. One day my mom called me for dinner while I was in the middle of a „mission“. I kept saying that I want to eat later but she wasn’t happy about that. Half an hour later, after she kept calling me, she totally lost it, grabbed my fire truck and smashed it on the ground. The truck was broken in teeny tiny pieces so it was impossible to be fixed. I don’t remember how mini me reacted but big me tears up remembering this.
I also wanted to have a pregnant Barbie (why?😭😭😭) but my parents didn’t do well financially at that time so I didn’t get one.

Maybe you also don’t long for them because you didn’t have to say goodbye to them in a tragic way which is good. And yes, parents love is so much worthier than the gifts.

Parents should see that their children have boundaries too 😢. They probably wouldn’t throw away something that belongs to an adult (and people who aren’t their kids, because it doesn’t matter how old you are, you always stay a little child for them).
I hope you find a similar one too :17:

Thank you :74: :74: :74:
The video is in my watch later playlist, I will watch it when my random procrastination lets me do it.
5-years-old you and your story are very cute.

So many toys are collectors piece there days and worth a lot of money. People who still have theirs and aren’t emotionally attached are lucky 🤑

I am sorry that you lost your pillow in this way. Cute of your mother to replace it. :74:

Ohh yes, those cars are so cool. In Bulgaria there were some parks where people would let kids ride one of those for ca.10-15 min. for the price of 1-3 lv.

As much as I like toys growing up as a kid and I got what I wanted for the most part, I think my inner spirit is my inner child and of course the spirit is attuned to the ethereal rather than the material and I’m mostly focused on my spiritual growth and I feel a deep longing to connect with God and my spirit. Desire isn’t a bad thing to me but rather the attachment to the desire is what keeps us longing and unsatisfied. I clinged to my toys and games as a child but it’s funny how I don’t feel the need or want for such things anymore. I enjoy gaming to this day but I can definitely live without it. Looking back now. I think I truly appreciated my parents love rather than the gift itself.

Rip fire truck :41: :24: I had many toys growing up, but there was one dolly with stringy brown hair and a purple dress that I would always carry around with me and cuddle 24/7. I literally just called it ´dolly´ lol

Then one day my mum decided it was too old, and she threw it away without asking me. The audacity!!! I threw a huge fit and I screamed and cried for 3 days but eventually got over it.

In our old apartment in Bulgaria, my grandma had many soft toy animals sitting around . I remember I used to play with a small elephant that made noises, I miss it so much :62: but I couldnt find it since my grandma sold that apartment. I hope I can find one like that again because it reminds me of my childhood holidays in Bulgaria

That story made me sad to read Mehlegg. I feel like giving mini-you, and big-you a hug. :62:

Things like that stay with you forever. Kids are so hyper aware of their emotions, and so sensitive to how their parents react to everything. Your story you shared sort of reminds of what I once read in a book by Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh - he wrote of healing your inner child. This is an uploaded version of what he wrote in his book: https://www.youtube.com/watch/… - Incase you´re interested. :)

Back to your question.. the only thing that sticks out to me is that I remember I had this baby doll, I brought her with me everywhere.. she became ragged just from me bringing her everywhere with me and not letting her out of my sight... I remember my parents buying me a brand-new doll - the same exact one to replace the one I had, bc of how unkempt she had became.. I wanted NOTHING to do with the new one.. it wasn´t the ´same´ in my 5 yr old eyes.. Lol. My parents eventually gave up once they realized I wasn´t going to part with her, (no matter how disheveled she was lol) - even if it was the exact same doll. :6:

I don´t recall personally but my Mother and Sister said I had a stuffed smurf I used to go everywhere with. That was replaced with a stuffed dog wearing a red soldiers uniform.

I had the assortment of action figures. My favorite being a "Biker Mice from Mars" and my "Crash Test Dummies".

Then they were slowly outshone by Super Mario on the Nintendo and Final Fantasy
on the Playstation.

I´ve tried looking for Crash Test Dummies again but they seem to be quite the collectors piece today

As a young child I had a small pillow. I called it my little pillow, it was a comfort item for sure. Around the age of 8 my parents were going through a divorce and we were traveling to my grandparents home, a 3 hour drive. At some point we had to pull to the side of the highway. I remember being emotional and I imagine my emotions added to my mother´s frustration. As we were getting back on the highway, she rolled the window down and threw my pillow out. It was rather devastating. For the next several years each time we past that spot on the highway I would look for my beloved pillow and the emotions would well up inside. I think she had a lot of guilt over her actions because when I was about 16 she surprised me with a replacement.

Interesting topic :1:

I had a lot of toys as a child but they all were things that people would throw on the street so the trash van can come and pick them up. I miss playmobile and electric cars that you can sit and ride in

I decided princess dresses honored my inner child so just dressed up like one whenever the day calls for it. Amazon has some amazing dress up clothes. I’m a 5th house Sun (Stellium), so… this is on theme lol :61:

It´s an interesting topic actually.

I couldn´t think of anything specific at first but then I realized that all the things I was missing in my childhood, I´m buying now to my niece: books, art supplies, butterfly net or kaleidoscope, or some pretty textiles. Oh wow, but her Moon is conjunct mine so I guess it´s ok :75:

But I actually bought myself roller skates last year, that was something I really wanted in early teenage years. I tried them once just before snow came and it turned out I´m missing wrist protection. Need to get it now, the weather is perfect!

But in general I think in recent years I´ve been doing a lot of things that I didn´t get to experience as a child or I used to enjoy in that time but then got away from it.

In my experience, becoming your own inner parents is the best thing we can do to our inner child.
