One of my favorite movies is Gran Torino. Metal Horse astrology.
Clint Eastwood, he is a Metal Horse... That´s crazy yet not crazy, he is a completely different person to me, yet on the same level the spirit is exactly the same.

Any horses here? any Metal element people?

I don´t particularly subscribe to his political view, however on pure character, strong guy with a real intellect and ability to make things happen.

Gran Torino was a complete story of his own, master piece in my opinion.

On the basis of there being a lack of freedom in how we repartee which is political correctness, Clint stands as an old sour puss who longs for the return of the times you did not have a gun held to your head for only voicing an opinion and being a wise crack with humor.

No one is fully on either side, and i respect that.

I don´t take it personally.

I am too old for that.

Disagreements are part of the natural ebb & flow of life.

You are not the first, nor are you likely to be the last who has
taken issue with something or other that I have said.

Nice that you have come around, in time, in your own way.

Better to have friends than enemies in this world, but just the same
each one has their own spark of truth in them- there is no right or wrong about expressing it, although sometimes people take issue with the form it takes, from one moment to the next.

I think I disagree more with Clint´s politics than you and I could ever disagree, but I still like his movies and admire his acting and overall lifetime body of work.

Chinese Lunar Date:May 23, Geng Wu Year (1990)
Chinese Solar Date:Ren Wu Day, Ren Wu Month, Geng Wu Year (the Year of the Horse)

We clashed once, erm well at least i voiced an issue, but i also turned it over and moved forwards.
You can only piss in the same place for so long until it stinks...

Year. Metal Horse.
Day. Water Horse.
Month. Water Horse.

Yin / Yang.

and you and I, who you said, "don´t get on at all..."

all those squares & oppositions you pointed out...

seems the universe does have a sense of humor after all, doesn´t it?

ok I thought of something better with Clint and his comedies..

somewhere between "Chaplinesque" and "Simon Pegg"

a likeable "everyman"

Simon Pegg does a good job of nailing a modern day version of "everyman"
Chaplin has become somewhat arcane and academic in these our times.
A bit snooty, academic stuff. What percent of today´s "common man" has really
seen a Chaplin film, start to finish these days anyway? Arthouse stuff at this point..

I don´t agree with Clint´s politics, but I do recognize his genius
in film as an actor and as a director.

For someone that gifted, I give him leeway on his personal thoughts and
politics- same as with a guy like Woody Allen, of whom I could say the same
things.

Sometimes you just gotta live and let live.

Let artistic types have their leeway. Give them space to express themselves.

Good things usually come of it, and the bad things come in no greater or lesser
proportion than among "ordinary" less gifted folks.

Sorry all the Wimmin out there who hate Woody. Well, not really sorry....but you know..
it´s just a turn of phrase.... after all..

Thank you, i am always open to learning more, i understand western on at least a good basic level.

And i enjoy parallels.

I like to find linkage in myself and the world around me.

Linkage is a bridge to more knowledge and new ways.

Now to find my signs for those others.
Again, thank you.

chinese astrology has year, month and day signs..

I am a (yang) metal dragon (day master)

with (yang) wood dragon month master

born in yang water rat year.

Intersting shit. but careful who you talk to and how..

enough dumbasses on this site already can´t wrap their minds
around western astrology by itself.

Ototh, chinese is a paralell, mostly incompatible system (vis-a-vis western..) that also has its own wisdom. Considering its age,
how could it not? But like I said, enough dumbasses come in here
incapable of understanding western, so what would be the point of
introducing a second thing they would not understand any better than
the first?

But to those who "get it" I dedicate this post..

Spinal problems, only once.

Lungs, only issue i had was pushing myself to my utter limit and my lungs hurt really badly, but it did not kill me, did give a coppery taste as i breathed, but eventually never happened again. We are talking pretty rough conditions plus excessive physical training which was the Army, so it is not a normal situation.

A certain carbonated drink would cause internal pain "Irn Bru"
cut it out altogether and issue vanished, this drink before never gave me problems, i do think they changed the formular, it don´t agree with me.

Metal (Chinese: 金; pinyin: jīn), the fourth phase of the Chinese philosophy of Wu Xing, is the decline of the matter, or the matter´s decline stage.[1] Metal is yin in character, its motion is inwards and its energy is contracting. It is associated with the autumn, the west, old age, the planet Venus, the color white, dry weather, and the White Tiger (Bai Hu) in Four Symbols. The archetypal metals are silver and gold.

In Chinese Taoist thought, Metal attributes are considered to be firmness, rigidity, persistence, strength, and determination. The metal person is controlling, ambitious, forceful, and set in their ways as metal is very strong. They are self-reliant and prefer to handle their problems alone. The metal person is also wise, business-oriented, and good at organization and stability. However, the metal person can also appreciate luxury and enjoy the good things in life. Just as metal can conduct electricity, the metal person has strong impulses and generative powers and can bring about changes and transformations for those who come into contact with them. The metal person is patient, as well as a good person with a strong will.

In traditional Chinese medicine, metal governs the lung and the large intestine, nose and skin. The negative emotion associated with metal is grief, while the positive emotion is courage. Many sources aimed at a Western audience equate Metal with the attributes of the element Air.

This is from Wikipedia, it´s interesting.

yeah real life horse people need space. crowd them and they bolt.
they can be very contrary at times too. Tiger is a good match for
them. similar need for space & autonomy. Both also very fun loving.

I´m rat. do badly with horses unless there is a significant age
gap and teacher/mentor relationship- non romantic. at that distance
I can "get" what they are about and what their triggers are. sympathy
for their strenghts and limitations (as I see them..subjectively).

personally a close relationship with one would be a big no-no mistake for
me. too different, way down.

Clint is a pretty artistic and intellectual director.. The French love him. I understand why. Never understood the Frenchies love for Jerry Lewis though..

Yes, it´s an inbetween of serious and.. not serious, yet the action that comes out is almost always contrary to what is shown.
That´s an issue, don´t take a horse seriously, the back legs kick out and hurt :117:

he always plays a likeable decent scruffy semi down & out "everyman" in his comedies and plays it damn well.

I want to say Chaplinesque but maybe that is stretching both men
a bit too far to make them meet somewhere in the middle.

Misty is not a comedy tho. he´s a radio dj being stalked by a deranged female fan. kinda like fatal attraction but a decade before. no bunnies boiled in this one.

"Play Misty for Me" was one of his minor 70´s one. A fun thriller.
