Do you know the free app star track lite?
Point your phone at any star and it shows you what it is and in which constellation. Plus its fun to watch the planets move along the ecliptic and know where the moon is on a cloudy night...

My phone’s an apple but it worked on my previous android too. Yes I like to actually see the stats too but it’s nice to identify what I don’t know or check on s cloudy night.

I love this one - Star Tracker

https://play.google.com/store/apps/…

it worked flawlessly for pretty long time ... but it somehow screwed and started rotating all the time if you pointed to the sky :63: ... so I stopped using it.

But I just tried to remove/re-install this app again ... and it seems to be working again :75:

I don´t know this one ? it is on android or apple ?

The one I use is Skyview Lite, Im assuming it´s the same. :1:

I always prefer to spot them by eye, most special I find is when I see Venus as "morning star" just before the sun rises. Last weekend was beautiful outside and could see Sun square last quarter Moon in broad daylight.

App is a handy tool tho, I love it for what you mentioned. The graphics are pretty sweet too!!
